Hey Folks,

Lots of things going on... just wanted to make sure you were aware of the
following items...as always, I may have missed
a few things - please feel free to chime in here...

Technical blogs, projects, articles, and the like:

Evan Lenz's awesome XSLT blog post series on DMC ended with two final posts
Invoking and Importing XQuery in
XSLT<http://developer.marklogic.com/blog/xquery-in-xslt>
Tired of Typeswitch? Try template
rules!<http://developer.marklogic.com/blog/tired-of-typeswitch>

Spig's Pygments XQuery lexer was accepted into the main Pygments branch.
Syntax highlighting is enabled on github now and language search should be
there soon, too. If you see any issues with the syntax highlighting (it's new
code), please let me or Spig know.

Mike Blakeley posted up an article on MarkLogic XQuery code
review<http://blakeley.com/wordpress/archives/518>.

Nuno Job moved his blog to <http://blog.nunojob.com/> http://blog.nunojob.com/

the heck are you actually using NoSQL
for?<http://highscalability.com/blog/2010/12/6/what-the-heck-are-you-actually-using-nosql-for.html>

User Group Activity

Justin Makeig presented Jump-Starting Application Development with MarkLogic
Application Services at the Maryland MarkLogic User Group (Mark-UPS) on
December 1<http://www.meetup.com/Mark-UPS/calendar/15506335/>.

The MarkLogic Useg Group France (MUGFR) met yesterday, December
7th<http://developer.marklogic.com/events/mugfr_2010_12_01>. Among a number of
speakers, Ron Avnur presented on MarkLogic Features and Use Cases. Marie
Lichtle blogged and posted up several photos at http://www.mug-fr.org/

Eric Bloch presented on the CMS
toolkit<http://developer.marklogic.com/code/comoms> at the Denver MarkLogic
(aka DenMARK) User's Group on November 16th. Mike Brevoort also demoed his
WebSockets, NodeJS, and MarkLogic
Alerting<http://blogs.avalonconsult.com/blog/generic/realtime-push-with-marklogic-and-nodejs-via-websockets/>
 integration. It's a sweet demo.

The NY-MUG meetup.com<http://meetup.com> distribution list is now indexed via
markmail.org<http://markmail.org>. We've turned off the old user group mailing
list on DMC in lieu of this list. We plan to migrate other user group mailing
lists (largely used for announcements about meetings) over to
meetup.com<http://meetup.com> as well.

currently on the w3w3.com<http://w3w3.com/> home page, along with some extreme
close-ups of us. It's also here directly:
