Just to clarify here, you cannot *upgrade* directly to 4.2 from 3.2. You would
have to go to 4.0 first.

You should be able, however, to *restore* (via database backup/restore) the 3.2
database in 4.2.

Hi Aswini,

You should be able to restore a 3.2 database in 4.2. It will need to be
reindexed, and if reindexing is on in the configuration, it will just start
doing so automatically.

You must have the database configured in 4.2 before you do the restore
(assuming you have a MarkLogic database backup). You also need all of the
forests configured. See the Administrator's Guide for information on Backing
Up and Restoring Databases.

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] Queries on Database restore.

Hi,

We want to restore a database( which is created in MarkLogic 3.2 ) into
MarkLogic 4.2 server. Does it possible to restore it in MarkKLogic 4.2 server?

Could someone please send me the URL from where we can download the MarkLogic
3.2 server installer.

Thanks in Advance

Aswini
