Hi Vimal,

The 'where' clause is part of the FLWOR-statement, and has to be preceded by 
one or more 'for' or 'let' clauses. The 'if' stands on its own and resembles if 
statements from other languages. MarkLogic Server comes with a free tutorial 
built-in. You can typically find it at http://localhost:8000/use-cases/ (or 
perhaps just http://localhost:8000/ if you are using an older version of 
MarkLogic Server). You will find plenty examples, together with sample data and 
a sand-box application..
