Never seen this behavior in MarkLogic Server before. Are you certain it is 
caused by MarkLogic Server and not for instance the code you use to upload the 
XML, the code to retrieve it again, or even the tool you use to visualize the 
XML you retrieved?

A clean way to inspect what is in the database, apart from accessing the 
database through WEBDAV with a plain text editor, is to use the explore 
function of CQ, click on one of the troubling XML files, and use the browser 
function to show the source of the page to see the XML as returned by MarkLogic 
Server.

Hi All,

I am getting a problem,

when I am uploading a xml document into MarkLogic Server 4.2 . A default name 
space has been added into that xml.
xmlns:xml="http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace";

please help me how I suppress it.
