Betty - when you don't specify a port with scheme "http", port 80 is 
used - in other words, it's the default http port.  That's why Jason 
kept saying you could open up MarkLogic on port 80.  Presumably then you 
wouldn't need the proxy, although you might still want it if you want 
access to other proxy features not provided by MarkLogic, like an 
in-house security layer or something like that.
