On that note, I have found this site a good reference when creating regular 
expressions:

It seems to be pretty accurate and I have found it useful when writing regular 
expressions in any language.

xquery (xpath) regex is a subset of what we are used to from perl and
its ilk; the lookahead (?=), eg, is not supported
