I just learned that a 32 bit version was installed by mistake, so that must be the problem.
Sorry for the noise, Gary From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gary Larsen Sent: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 3:58 PM To: 'General MarkLogic Developer Discussion' Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] Memory configuration on large server I have 64 bit MarkLogic installed on a Windows 2008 server with 256G of memory. There are some odd things happening. The default memory settings created on the install were very small. These were reset to the default settings when 64 bit MarkLogic was installed on an 8G workstation. This helped, but I am still getting expanded cache errors with queries which run fine on very similar data on the 8G workstation. The large server's virtual memory is set to 56G, less than the 3x physical usually recommended, but that would be a lot of disk! I'm afraid of any unintended consequences of just increasing the memory properties. Any suggestions on how I should tune MarkLogic running on a server with this much memory? Thanks, Gary
