I'm not aware of anything aside from database-set-range-index-optimize to 
'facet-time', and that is the default setting.

The applications I'm working with right now that have migrated to ML5 haven't 
seen a drop in performance. Maybe it's something specific about the use-case? 
If you can provide some kind of test case, I'm sure support would be interested.
