Hi, Sunil,
It appears the file system(s) where ML is configured to look for the PCE
forests isn't visible to the ML process, or perhaps the entire OS. To see what
paths ML is looking for, check assignments.xml; e.g.:
<assignment>
<forest-name>rsuite-appa</forest-name>
<enabled>true</enabled>
<host>6010879124863082409</host>
<data-directory>c:\projects\appa\data</data-directory>
<updates-allowed>all</updates-allowed>
<failover-enable>false</failover-enable>
<failover-hosts/>
<forest-id>11804713071568347248</forest-id>
<forest-backups/>
<forest-replicas/>
</assignment>
When the <data-directory> node is empty, ML uses the default data directory, as
shown for the forests that are available.

Subject: Re: [MarkLogic Dev General] Forests in a Database not getting mounted,
throwing "XDMP-FORESTMNT:" exception
Hi Sriram,
I have tried to resolve the Forests unmounted issue today. With the following
response i got from support forum, it sounds more like a infrastructure issue.
Can you please look at it ?Attached is the unmounted status of all the forests
of PCE database.

Hi,
I think that the problem lies in the "Read only file system" bit. Does
MarkLogic has sufficient rights to write to the filesystem? Not being able do
it is the problem in my opinion.

Subject: Forests in a Database not getting mounted, throwing "XDMP-FORESTMNT:"
exception
Hello Everyone,
I have an issue with the forests of a database in MarkLogic. Any action on the
database, throws an exception "XDMP-FORESTMNT: Forest <<forest-name>> not
mounted: disconnected".
I tried all the following possibilites,
1. Restarting MarkLogic Server
2. Remapping forests to the problematic database
3. Restarting all the forests to problematic database
All of them showing errors in Errorlog.txt, "Error:
NullAssignment::localMount: SVC-FILWRT: File write error: open
'<<some-forest-path>>': Read-only file system".
Any suggestions to resolve this?
Thanks,
Sunil C
