Well, two other options could be:

- Go ahead as I described, but before installing ML, temporarily
stop the service on port 8000, and restart it once you have admin running
on some different port

- Edit group.xml. Make a copy first though, and be sure you don’t
pick a port number that is already present elsewhere in group.xml ;-)

Grtz,

Geert

PS: why don’t you move the other service to a different port? ;-)

Thanks Geert and David. Unfortunately, David is right! ;-)

So, maybe rather a command line parameter to pass to the MSI (yes, this is
on Windows) ...

cheers,
Jakob.

This won't work if 8000 is already bound

I believes Jakob needs to change the port prior to initial start

Hi Jakob,

Just go to the Admin interface, and assign different port numbers to the
appropriate http servers. Just be aware, you will need to change the
browser uri if you change the admin port. Let it wait for the restart, and
as soon as the browser says it cannot connect, change the port number in
the uri, and reenter credentials.

The other http servers should be even easier..

I cannot guarantee though, that the links in the top menu bar of most ml
interfaces will still be correct. Though, I did try to change Admin port
nr, and link from Query console does seem updated!

Kind regards,

Geert

Hi,

can I somehow specify different defaults ports (8000, 8001, 8002) during or
after install? We already have another service running on 8000.

cheers,
Jakob.

PS: I guess if possible, this probably applies to all versions. Just to be
precise, I'm looking to install EA1.
