Modules are probably best mapped to components in uml-speak. There isnt much in the way of a design class paradigm in uml and youre free to think of your functions as mapping to whatever analysis classes you want since analysis classes by definition dont lap directly to code. If you want to depict an xquery program in uml you'd probably get more bang for your buck by focusing primarily on the behavioral diagrams (sequence, collaboration, activity, statechart).
