Hi Karthik,

MarkLogic is adding support for HDFS in their next version 7, as well as
provide access to Forest data on HDFS from Hadoop, without MarkLogic in
between. You might be interested in participating in the Early Access
program. You’d best reach out to Eric Bloch for this.

I don’t expect HDFS to be quicker than normal FS. It’s like with RAID and
other clustered filesystems. They involve overhead to spread data across
multiple discs etc. In terms of IO on one box solid state disks are
quickest. There might be other arguments though, to want to have RAID or
clustered filesystems, like fail-over, resizing possibilities, scalability,
etc..

Kind regards,

Geert

Hi,

Have anyone used MarkLogic with HDFS as file system?

If so, can you please let us know whether it is possible to setup a test
environment in Windows?

Also, I want to know whether MarkLogic on HDFS improves search performance
than having MarkLogic on normal FileSystem?

Please share your experience.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,

Karthik
