Hi Sundar,
Other than manipulating the parsed query to inject the proximity weight into
the and-query that search:parse() creates, I don't see an easy way to do it.
Have you looked at near-query to see whether it would satisfy your
requirements? That is well supported by the default grammar ("cat NEAR dog").

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] cts:query distance weight
Hi,
I want to set the distance weight option for proximity
boosting in search. I use search:parse API to form the structured query
dynamically and pass the structured query to cts:search API, Since the query
is formed using search:parse I could not set the distance weight option.
Using Proximity Boosting With cts:and-query
Semantics<http://docs.marklogic.com/guide/search-dev/relevance#id_21623>
Whether I can use the ‘quality-weight’ option in search:search API for
proximity boosting? Any suggestions to achieve proximity boosting between
search words using above implementation? Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Sundar
