Compared to xdmp:estimate(), xdmp:exists() knows to stop counting after it finds one.
Pro tip: You can also pass a second argument to xdmp:estimate() to hint when to stop counting at a value higher than one, useful if you want to stop after say 11 results to know you should show a Next Page link without fully counting all results. -jh- On Dec 11, 2013, at 10:35 AM, Ellis Pritchard <[email protected]> wrote: > Great, that's 10x faster than either; care to explain why?
