If you are browsing in Query Console, clicking on an image URI should
open the image in a new window.
when developing, I find it also helpful to script something via a REST
interface to then do a check against the original files (like a checksum
on the fetched image after store vs the original image, etc)

If you just want to confirm a round trip, you can use xdmp:save to
write the image back out on the server somewhere.
