Making J available on mobile devices is exciting, having waited impatiently for APL to become more widely used I hope that this might do it for J.
I have a suggestion re the text in your link, I quote:- "For example, the adverb ~ makes a one-argument verb from a two-argument verb by setting the two arguments equal. With + standing for plain addition, +~ thus doubles its argument: +~ 1 5 10 20 2 10 20 40 " I found the 'one argument verb from 2 argument verb' confusing, and wanted to say it the other way round. Why not put in the extra row:- +~ 1 5 10 20 Is the same as 1 5 10 20 + 1 5 10 20 John Corrie -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brian Schott Sent: 05 October 2012 10:16 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Jgeneral] The ultimate calculator for Android and iOS Thanks for the input Devon. I adapted the relevant paragraph with the following result. While my adaptation does not mention matrices, I think it captures a similar strength. "In my opinion, these apps would be very valuable to students, especially later in their lives. Among their many features and power, I especially like how these apps facilitate performing comparative calculation experiments using the same formulae with multiple inputs, and arranging the results in meaningful tables."
