It is easier to discuss and modify if the scripts are hosted in JAL.
I put a slightly editted version of your tgsj basic/basic2 into
JAL addon graphics/tgsj.  Please download and test how it work.
It needs some additional addons as mentioned in 
http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/OpenGL%20ES

I only ran a smoke test with j801 on Linux. At least it didn't
crash.

Please request JAL write access right from Chris if you want to
modify and update it.
