Thanks Eric, I updated my JHS to the most recent version through JAL, but the results remained the same.
I ran from console and then loaded core.ijs and ran init_jhs_ with the same text of the webpage result as before. Jconsole has not had a problem in either running either 801 or 802. The issue seems to arise during the initialization phase for the web browser. Here is the list of files that the process runs through in the start up >4!:3'' /Users/bobtherriault/j802/bin/profile.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/util/boot.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/main/stdlib.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/util/scripts.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/main/regex.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/main/task.ijs /Users/bobtherriault/j802/system/util/configure.ijs /users/bobtherriault/j802/system/main/ctag.ijs /users/bobtherriault/j802/system/util/jadetag.ijs In profile there is a smoutput in the catch clause for the startupide and the startupconsole verbs, but if those are triggered then there would have been an error earlier. I have not put in any personalized startup code. Occasionally, under Safari I have seen a message of "the operation could not be completed kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error #303", but other times it is just the text code of the jijx page. And now I actually got it to work once with the output of J Http Server 12c JVERSION Engine: j701/2011-01-10/11:25 Library: 8.02.12 Platform: Darwin 32 Installer: J802 install InstallPath: /users/bobtherriault/j802 0 f1 0 |spelling error | 0 | ^ 0 The spelling errors occurred after I had pressed the return key twice and then things stabilized to what seemed to be a working J session. Upon restart we returned to the kCFError message, and I have not got it going again since (but if it worked once it may again - I will keep trying a few more times as I wait for any other ideas, and will look through the files that are run for smoutputs). I am running Mavericks OS as a way to allow me more time for reflection as I program :-) , perhaps there is a timing issue that is cropping up. Although, the Safari browser is the only one that has shown the error message, it seems to be occurring across browsers and may have more to do with the OS. Thanks for your help.
