Thanks for reply. I followed your suggestion - still got a problem.

I connected my device to desktop with USB cable. Surprise !! The desktop can see the system folder just where it should be, with contents
apparently correct. I was wrong to say it was missing.

However, JQT on Android cannot see the system folder. I also tried two different file managers and they also cannot see the system folder. They can, repeat can, see bin and addons.

One possibility is that the system folder might have different access controls or attributes from the other folders, and maybe needs root privilege to access.

Using a file manager on the desktop, I wiped the system folder on Android and copied in another one from the desktop. JQT now crashes and disappears instantly, leaving nothing to see.

Stuck.

Sorry the apk missed the system folder. Please copy the system folder from
desktop to see if it can fix the problem.

I'm having trouble installing JQT for Android, and would be grateful for
advice.

In a few words, after installing, the "system" folder is missing from the
"files"
folder. Hence the session startup script "bin/profile.ijs" fails with
file-name error
on its last line, trying to execute "util/boot.ijs"

I've downloaded the qtide-signed.apk dated 04-Aug-2014 and just clicked
on it to install.
The resulting "files" folder contains only addons, bin and
asset_version.txt
The "bin" folder contains only installer.txt profile.ijs and
profilex_template.ijs

Is there something I should be doing different?
