I’ve been retired for 15 years and have been away from J for about ten of those
years. Now I would like to use it again for simulations to test some theories.

Years ago, I used APL*PLUS and APL2 on mainframe computers. Then I used J with
no problems on a couple of PCs running Microsoft and then on an Apple Mac Mini.
The PCs are gone and the Mac Mini is now defunct, perhaps due to a lightning
surge. I believe I was running J602 on that computer ten years ago, or
whenever.

Now I have a late 2013 model Apple iMac (2.9 GHz Intel Core i5) running OS X
Yosemite Version 10.10.5 (the latest version).

I have no idea what has been the impetus behind your recent J803 and J804. Was
it to support mobile devices? I have installed JQt and Jconsole on my computer
but see no Labs. In order to get back into using J, I would like to refresh
myself via the Labs. What is the latest version of J supporting Labs? Should
that version work with my current computer and operating system? Should I try
to get J602 running, since that suited my needs previously?

Thank you for any tips you can give me. I’m feeling stymied.

Jim Adams
