Hi all,

I'm having trouble updating J on my Ubuntu (14.04) Linux system. It can't
find libedit.so.

ldd can't find it.

$ ldd jconsole
        linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007ffdb3f56000)
        libedit.so => not found
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f32c3b81000)
        libncursesw.so.5 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libncursesw.so.5
(0x00007f32c394d000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0x00007f32c3588000)
        /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f32c3d85000)
        libtinfo.so.5 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5
(0x00007f32c335f000)

I do have libedit.so.2, e.g.

$ ldconfig -p | grep libedit
        libedit.so.2 (libc6,x86-64) =>
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libedit.so.2

and this is what the Installing J wiki mentions (
http://code.jsoftware.com/wiki/System/Installation/Linux), but the actual
binary wants plain libedit.so, which I can't find anywhere.

Any hints?

Thanks,
Johann
