Pending an authoritative reply from Eric et al, I think you should find the
J701 version fairly similar to the previous iPad app.

When starting it, you should see a screen displaying various lines, beginning
with
“Welcome to J”, followed by “scroll...” down to “and then tap run to run the
script.”

This is followed by an initially blank area for results, similar to the
historical part of a conventional J session.

Below this lies the input area, together with a keyboard layout. You can
dismiss the keyboard by tapping the black triangle at the bottom left of that
keyboard. It’s reinstated if/when you tap in the input area. You can navigate
between alphabetic and other characters using the “!” Symbol adjacent to the
black triangle.

You can create a new or open an existing script using “je ‘michel’” for
example. This takes you to the script-edit mode.

Notice also the blue “?” Symbol, which invokes the help area at the top, which
is scrollable. Conversely, the blue dot hides this area.

Unfortunately, your old scripts on the iPad will have been lost unless you
transferred them before installing J701.

Good luck!

Mike
