I posted this a few days ago, bu it didn't go through.
I now realize that this is likely due to a mail change at the University
of Maryland. My old email "[email protected]" is now jusr an alias for
the new address "[email protected]", and my post was going our under the new
address. I am now resubscribing with my new "jpha" address.

Subject: Problem updating j under TAILS

I just recently installed j902 on my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04 and
also on my Mac mini. Both installs went flawlessly and the J icons
(which had been an issue in the past) appeared on the desktop.
Congratulations for making this such a smooth experience -- and also for
the performance improvements.
I sometimes run TAILS (The Amnesic Incognito Live System) on my Dell
XPS-13-9300. This is a Gentoo
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentoo_Linux>-based Linux operating
system running on a USB stick. I installed j807 and j901 on it in the
past, but when I tried to install j902, while the basic jconsole
installed OK, the attempts to load the addons failed with this message(s):
curl: (7) Failed to connect to www.jsoftware.com port 80. Connection
refused.
I now also cannot use pacman to update j901 -- I get the same failure to
connect.
TAILS uses the Tor browser and relays the internet connection through
many servers for anonymity. Perhaps your network detects this and
refuses the connection. Is there any way around this problem? Tor will
connect to most internet sites but seems to fail with timeout on my
University of Maryland webpage.
Once again, thanks for the continual improvements in j. I hope to dig
into Fold soon!
Patrick
