Hello everyone,

I’m not sure whether this is the right forum, because my question does, in a strict sense, not refer to J but rather to the tooling - however, I’ll try.

I’m using GNU Emacs 27.1 and J 9.02 on a Windows 10 machine. Since I do a lot of work in org-mode I thought I could give Zach Elliot’s j-mode a try:

https://github.com/zellio/j-mode

I installed the package via el-get and after setting j-console-cmd to my jconsole.exe file everything seemed to work fine.

However - whenever I try to send a buffer containing a .ijs-file to the console with C-c C-c seemingly nothing happens, but after pressing C-g I jump into the buffer holding the jconsole output and see, that the J content has successfully been sent to the console. Interestingly enough, I see a similar behavior in the jconsole buffer itself. Every time I’m entering a definition like mean =: +/ . * I have to press C-g to process it. Showing an existing noun, e.g., however, does just work fine from within the jconsole buffer and I do not need any additional C-g.

I faintly remember, that someone (maybe Devon) recently had some trouble with j-mode.el, too. So probably someone knows, what is going on here and whether there is some way to handle this irritating behavior?

Kind regards,

Thomas
