Apple has a rather complicated hierarchy for such files. https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/FileManagement/Conceptual/understanding_utis/understand_utis_conc/understand_utis_conc.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001319-CH202-BCGJGJGA https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/Miscellaneous/Reference/UTIRef/Articles/System-DeclaredUniformTypeIdentifiers.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40009259-SW1 Anyways.. I do not have an iPad, but it looks like the "Apple Way" for dealing with this issue might be to uninstall and reinstall that text editor. (Though it's also possible that there is a J issue here...) Which text editor are you using? Thanks, -- Raul ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
