Joe, the memory idea does seem credible.

I started with i. 3 4 as a "hello, world" and got the "aw snap."

I then tried the sentence
    4
and it seemed to work ... except that, if I'm patient and wait a bit (less
than a  minute), i still get "aw snap".

4 5
seemed to error out.  I restarted the phone, though, and now it works like
4 .... success followed by "aw snap".
