with ant 1.6 and the built-in SSH support, it should be possible to just put the deploy functionality in your build.xml file. Then, define a gump descriptor that runs your 'deploy' target.
What's needed for this to work is an authentication mechanism between the machine that runs gump and the machine that hosts the website. We need some input from infrastructure@ on how to do that. The security of the current gumpy install is certainly too low to use something like host-based authentication to minotaur.
