+1 to that one. In the case of "has been broken for a LONG time with no sign of activity gump-wise" I would even support the above for ASF projects. At least until the tree is cleaned up.

No, for ASF is "get your act together or I'll bring this up to the next board meeting" which is even worse than removing it.

And, yes, gump needs to be less obnoxious and more useful, I agree.
