The things we need (see http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=gump&m=109931478727785&w=2 ) (1) install jikes and jikes-kaffe via apt-get (2) set JAVAC env variable in shell script that starts "Kaffe Gump" to point to jikes-kaffe (3) set ANT_OPTS env variable in shell script that starts "Kaffe Gump" to set build.compiler to jikes this should get us through the bootstrap process for Ant. I can't do (1) for lack of permissions.
