Those in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill North Carolina area or those willing to travel might be interested in the upcoming Scale-A-Thon that a few of us from the Triangle Hadoop User's Group (www.trihug.org) are putting on. Scale-A-Thon is a one day hacker's event aimed at devs wanting to hack on things like Hadoop, Mahout, HBase, Cassandra, etc. This first time event is scheduled for June 18th.
