Of course it is community-based! (never said otherwise) And my points are attempting to inform people about the underlying principles of trust in these two modes of community operation. And (IMO) that RTC is a horrible underpinning, preventing an establishment of a true trust relationship among the members of the community. RTC leads with "I don't trust you". CTR leads with "I trust you."
Others may justify their use of RTC under the rubric of "complexity", but as I stated else-thread that is merely an excuse. There is no justification, other than control.
