I don’t think we’d have issues with the original authors, as Edward mentioned they did give a subtle nod of approval in the past, and they’ve been invited to participate. I also don’t think the community would have an issue with changing the name if necessary. And in fact one of the first things we should do on entry would be a PODLINGNAMESEARCH so if a name change is required it is done early. A cursory google search of “gossip software” revealed a Gnome chat client and a SIP client/VoIP dialer, both of which are pretty distant in purpose from what’s being proposed. -Taylor
