I believe it is better to get the rename decision done as soon as is reasonable, but also that whatever checks need to be made do happen. I mostly posted this question for my understanding. I wasn't sure how the name change related to a release. I did see some notes in one of the older suitable name search entries in Jira that talked about a podling establishing themselves and making a release before the name is approved, but I thought it would be better in this case to have a name that is less likely to cause confusion before making a release. I just want to ask advice on whether there are any dependencies on releases, etc before the name can be approved. Or, if there is a dependency on the name approval before making a release.
