I like the idea that podlings can choose between an online or offline review. 
Rather than the offline review being ‘official’ and the online meeting being an 
optional extra.

I agree that ASF’s asynchronous approach has benefits, especially for some 
activities like code reviews. But it also has significant downsides for other 
activities. 

Regarding time zones. Finding a suitable time zone is probably not a huge 
problem; this would be a meeting with a handful of attendees, most of whom are 
probably in the same time zone.

Regarding the reporting process. Let’s worry less about creating a reporting 
paper trail, and more about making the podling successful. Of course the 
meeting will produce minutes, and they can go into the report.
