This page helps PPMCs evaluate and use new tools, platforms, and workflows while following current ASF values and policies, so there’s generally no need to create new rules. The main points are: - Applying the ASF values before seeking a new policy - Treating escalation as the exception rather than the norm - Preserving human accountability in automation and AI-assisted workflows - Recognising the small number of cases where privacy, licensing, or irreversible risk do require further guidance It’s guidance to help projects handle new technology, using the Apache Way as the main decision-making approach. Mentors and PPMCs can use this as a reference when there are questions or concerns about new tools or workflows.
