I dont't know how the mainframe people at IBM think. But as a whole IBM
seeems strongly commited to the open source idea.
The question seems to be: Does Jakarta Tomcat interfer with the IBM
Websphere stuff.
Hard to tell. On a Unix machine, you would arue: As long as I stay away
from the WebSphere IP Port numbers ( or use a different IP Adresse ), there
should be no impact.
Or do you plan for any communication between tomcat and websphere?

Betreff: Consequences
Anybody,
This is my first post, and I'm more than a little
intimidated, but this is a serious question. I' m concerned about the
consequences of the fact that I'm running Tomcat on a platform where the
hardware/software vendor has a high-profile application which does the
same job. I haven't seen any references to this environment on
www.apache.org and I don't want to open a can of worms for myself or my
company if I can avoid it.
