There is a standard for Jakarta -- and it's been there since day one as part
of Jakarta's guidelines.

Entry point:

    http://jakarta.apache.org/site/guidelines.html

Specific Page with Coding Style:

    http://jakarta.apache.org/site/source.html

It's maintained by the PMC and an indication that nobody reads the freaking
docs that this isn't known by all the people that posted along with you.

To me, Turbine is the aberration as the bracket style that it suggests is
directly 180 degrees from the bracket style in the Sun coding guidelines
which were adopted for Jakarta wide use.

And no, the decision to use the Sun coding guidelines wasn't first made with
Jakarta -- it was the rule of the land for the old java.apache.org projects
as well.
