I was actually thinking along those same lines. Tomcat 3.2.x is history and I haven't found another place to stick my fingers into the code, yet, so I wouldn't mind helping out a little bit with this. BUT, I have NO desire to hold such a position indefintely.
I like the idea of a rotation. Depending on the load and the number of volunteers a two week rotation might be better. How many messages per day are we talking about.
