Recently a link to search.apache.org was added to the jakarta front
page.. I do see this as a good thing overall....but..

can I change the *search* link to:
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:jakarta.apache.org&hl=en&as_qdr=all

search.apache.org - useful resource or big dud...you decide:

Demonstration:

1. goto google.com - type these keywords:

excel java jakarta

Top hit http://jakarta.apache.org .. second entry
http://jakarta.apache.org/poi -- - nice work google. .

you can also go to "advanced search" and limit to apache domain for an
even better comparison..... (POI is then the top hit)

2. goto search.apache.org -

click "jakarta" and type excel java as your keywords....

NO RESULTS... hummm kinda embarrassing ... okay so POI is kinda new
lets try something else:

1. goto www.google.com

keywords : search engine java jakarta

Whammo! Lucene at the top... .nice show google

2. goto search.apache.org

keywords: search engine java
(check Jakarta)

wow... 1 - some engine class in tomcat... not particularly
relevant...Velocity #2 -- well Jon probably arranged that... But
wait...next and scroll to #28 and you see the word lucene.....but its
just a gump build that no longer exists... Well thats helpful...

For more fun use "logging API" -- dead log4j pages at the top... can't
find index page... Don't see LogKit in here...

So how bout changing the search link to be either this:

http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:jakarta.apache.org&hl=en&as_qdr=all

Or maybe working on upgrading the search engine or maybe it just needs
an index refresh ... For whatever the reason...I think it would be
safe to say at the moment it is well...sucky.
