Hi All. Saw some complaints about a general purpose tool like Maven coming from a sub-project of Turbine and thought I'd offer a little history.
It all started with the efforts to decouple Torque and Fulcrum. In the process of that decoupling turbine split into five sub-projects: turbine-2, turbine-3, stratum, fulcrum, and torque (and a bonus sub-project of the tdk). Maven was born out of a need to simplify the maintenance of all those builds. In that context it makes sense that Maven should be a sub-project of Turbine. Of course there's been an awareness that Maven would be useful beyond Turbine. But Turbine is proving to be a good incubator for maturing Maven and building a developer community to support it. I think it's a little premature to be converting everything to Maven. But Maven is moving damn quickly. Maybe it's good Jon got the flame war, er... marketing campaign, started early. 8^) -Eric -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
