That will attract volunteers a great deal ;((. The least "the project" (and therefor also you as a committer), has an obligation to give a reasonable response to the effort taken. Clouding the mailinglist with reminders (what some projects actually specifically ask for), is actually not something I should invest my time in. Just a simple "we don't have time for it now, it is on the todo list.. ", would do in many cases. So if you don't want to take that effort : don't take up the responsibility of being a committer. So the obligation to do something with it, is of the project and if you are part of that you have an obligation.
