That article has some nice quotes in it but blows overall. Why do you ask?
It gives way to much credit to the JCP as the main way to get involved in Java technology
and standardization. The "get involved" paragraph I find particularly objectionable.

The point?

While I applaud Jason Hunter and others' efforts, I would feel more comfortable if the
linked story on the jakarta site noted that the only Apache positions were attributed and
that in particular the "Get involved" section is not necessarily an Apache position. Apache
feels the best way to get involved in creating new open and community-based standards
is to participate in the Apache project and other opensource efforts.

I propose to add after:

When the servlet spec comes up for the executive committee's vote, will Apache's representative vote to approve it? Don't hold your breath, advises Hunter. "Apache won't support a technology that was created without community support."

The verbage:
"
There are many problems remaining to be solved with the JCP and Apache is involved in doing so.
Please not that the editorial provided by the article is not necesarily an Apache position. It is our
position that the best way to develop community based, open standards is through participation in
the Apache project or other similar opensource community efforts rather than participation in
Sun's JCP process.
"

If we can't find some agreeable verbage to clarify that "get involved in the JCP" is not an apache position then consider this my "-1" and please remove this from the site.

Thoughts?
