The longer pages initially display in two columns, as the browser seems to need to retrieve full middle column before laying out the page.
This also happens in Opera 7.54 - but MSIE 6.0 seems to wait until all is downloaded before displaying the page at all.
Yep. Mozilla versions display tables asap, whle IE versions wait until the table tag ends before displaying. Least that's how I've always thought it was, I've run across it a fair few times. Be interesting to see if we have it when we throw the big table out completely and try to float the divs :)
