Based on my own habits of losing mental energy for open-source when the season of Spring begins, I wondered if others did. One easy way, I surmised, would be to see how releases, mailing-list activity and commits varied by month.
Choosing the easy one, and using Jakarta's News pages as a history, I get the following (Excel-quickie) graph:

The trend I was looking for was not apparant, but it's interesting to see that the number of releases bounces around a fair bit.
