Thank you guys, I am flattered and delighted to be nominated. This is what I believe that I could bring to the role: (repeating sentiments expressed on private@) We have a community of very talented and opinionated individuals which we're starting to turn into a team once again, I would keep chipping away at that, taking time to bridge the communication gap and foster understanding and consensus. I would also continue to evangelise James as I have started doing over the past couple of years, and develop a communication strategy that will start to get James where it needs to be, in the technical blogs and rss feeds of the chattering classes. I would try, and try again, to develop consensus around a road map for James, and publish it. If anyone wants a leader then I will happily "own" the road map, and project manage it properly, but it would be wrong for me to write it. But above all I would like to ensure that all of the commiters have a level playing field in which to debate, propose, argue, and reach consensus. I will be the referee. If I have a fault it is that I haven't had enough time in the past two years to contribute to James. However on 23/Nov I will be staring a new job, one which will allow me more flexibility to contribute where I can add value, and not just when I have time, and not just from behind a Big Corporate Firewall. I will obviously be busy until then, but if you guys can cope with a few weeks of divided attention then I can assure you that, if you elected me, you will get all of the activity you need from a chair. d.
