Before going into a technical comparison regarding performance and
different areas of strength I have one point to mention that was just
brought up last week when I was having Iftar with Zaid and Ammar; as I
played around with BSD I truely understood the idea of a 'GNU/Linux
System' vs. say FreeBSD as a complete OS.

Linux as we repeat is the kernel only, then comes the GNU tools that
make up a UNIX-like system, and then the different applications that
you actually use, so a Linux distribution is a 'tabeekh' of all this.
*BSD comes as a single complete system.
