Hello, again!

Finally managed to get windows and ubundu to run together, ya3ni i can truly c y every1 uses windows, SIMPLE!!! i install windows and everything runs perfectly! if the open source ppl keep linux this complicated it'll never take over!!

I installed windows and ubundu yesterday, and of course i run into the problem of windows not booting, due to the kernel 2.6 bug!!  thanx to aram he gave me a link on how to fix that kernel problem! anyways, windows runs perfectly and gets all the devices running smoothly, i go to ubundu, device mnager, and i find that it too has detected all my hardware!! nice!

of course, nothin is perfect, the sound card is not giving any output!! no sound at all! how can i know if the driver is installed, not just hardware detected ( and yes the volume is set to he max, didn't  c a mute checkbox!!!) is there some kind of command to get the sound out!? this vast number of prompt commands with no GUI i killing me!! ( spent a whole day looking for someplace to setup my ADSL connectin, turns out there's no GUI for it! )

another problem is that, i want to share files between windows and linux on a 20 gb partition, i make the partition on windows, put my files there, but linux doesn't  c it! should be /dev/hda2/ bas when i go there ( from the GUI ) there's a red box with and X on the shortcut, what does this mean?!? i tried the mount command, which as i understood is mount /dev/hda2/ and it gives me and error that it can't find it sf??? some folder! the partition is fat32 and as i understood linux should c it!

i know i'll probably find the answers to all this shit on the internet, i don't have internet at home, figured inno since u guys are nice, and u want to spread open source and get more ppl to use linux, that i should ask u!!

once again, everything is working fine in windows, if it was some1 else, he prbably would remove linux and get back to windows, bas i disovered inno i've become very microsof dependent and wanna chnge that, coz for some eird reason i hate their guts! only problem is other options need a lot of work to do things that are easily done in windows, but hell u can't get everything!!

peace,

Saif A.
