>From kde just right click the start menu (usually the Suse logo icone)
->(choose) menu editor. in the menu editor window expand the internet
node  then select the web browser node after that choose new item from
the file menue,  enter firefox when asked for  an item name,  you'll
notice a new icone under the web browser node called firefox select it
and you'll have it properties displayed and the right side choose an
icone (/usr/local/firefox/icons/) then choose an exutable
(/usr/local/firefox/firefox). File -> save, close the window and your
good to go.
later on you can access firefox from the start menu (you even can drag
the icon to descktop or where ever.
