I wanted to thank the members who attended ITAJ and were so kind and thoughtful. Of the many places I have visited, Jordan is now the top of the list. You should also know that the terrain in much like parts of Texas and California. But the people are the nicest I have met any where. Since I'm back in the US and I met some of you, I hope you will not have a problem with me posting to the mailing list. I want to suggest you look at http://ubuntulinux.org. They have both a blog site for members and also a wiki. I think this would be useful. After talking to established leaders in the IT community, it is clear that they are heavily swayed by funds from M$. If Linux is to progress in Jordan, I believe a content heavy site should help with a grass roots effort. With bandwidth as I saw it, you will likely need a good supply of CD's. We ordered 300 from Ubuntu and they did not arrive for the ITAJ event in time. Perhaps we can still get them and do an install fest. I will look around for other resources and can ship them to you. Also, would you have an interest in creating a brother-sister LUG relationship with the North Texas Linux Users Group? This could add significantly to your support base and create some strong relationships. I also believe that you would find volunteers wanting to assist you in projects and perhaps we could do some joint projects together.
