Dear JOLUG members (including me ;)
in reply to your wondering about me ignoring you for our event, & having all my contacts saved with you, here are the emails that I've sent you last May when our event @ HU was ment to be held....
I only got ONE reply from you guys unfortunately, & the only person that i had serious contact with was Mr Isam Bayazidi at that time.
Upon this failure to attract you, along with other factors that did get by our side, we had to postpone the event till this august, Now, i hv directly contacted Mr Ammar Ibrahim who was very positive & passionate about it.. now unfortunately Mr isam will not be able to join us as it we wanted to be & We have canceled the prof/technical session (since our aim was a 2 day event).
if any of you will join us at the event (which will be mainly a for dummies event ;P) hehe ... we will try to take interest with him for planning an in-lab event ,,, more propably thru the Fac of IT instead of IEEE whose councilor is the reason of most our failures in my opinion!!!! Grrr...
so here's the proof, of my contacts with our, i hope you check our archives as well...
coz i really wanted to have an ARMY of You Linux freaks for this event,,, a thing that i didnt get unfortunately,,,,,
its not the end of it after all ,,, its just a start for having a based community of Linux in HU hopefully ,,, & desirably in coop with every1 at JOLUG.
Hope you got my point every1 ... & hey ,, hope u liked that logo i made for JoLug, its inspired from your linux4arab website of course ;)
Respect,
Nasim Al-tamimi

the 2nd day,,30th (MONDAY) : this will be the professional & technical session .... topics her R up to u & ur creativity ..... we R hoping to get our one & only linux instructor in the university to this one too .,.... its just a matter of time for him!

I have a couple of ideas for during/post event activities,
A) You can reserve a lab for a couple of hours lets say 5 days in raw, in the
first 2 days you can dedicate the first hour to talk about things like linux
distributions and stuff like that ( the basics ), the students can play
around with linux in the secund hour. In the following days you can change
the subject of the first hour to anything your local group feels comfortable
talking about.
B) You can arrange for holding Lectures, where anybody how have prepared
something about linux or FOSS can share the knowledge with others.
I think you don't have to know all about linux or FOSS to prepare a humble but
very usefull activity, you can use a small share of resources to deliver
usefull inforamation, develop your linux skills, and create a linux comunity
with in HU.
Big one or tow day events are good , but I think what would be much more
usefull and less hassle to every body is linux activities, Events have an
unsustainable effect , a couple of people come all the sudden and talk about
Linux , open source ,etc, you'll get some people excited but to get people to
use linux they should provide them with what every new windows user have
someone to wake him through the basics.
